OVERVIEW: In 48 hours, we experimented with ways to make an immersive piece that suspends the feeling of disbelief and gives audiences presence. Strangers and friends split into multiple teams, and each team explored this new field to create 5 minutes worth of 360 and immersive film.

PRODUCTION: We compiled the entire experience in Unity and captured the virtual environment with Jump, Google's professional VR video solution. After recording, the footage was processed with the Jump Assembler to enable seamless VR video production. To create the 3D models we used Autodesk 123D which produces 3D models from series of photographs taken at various angles using photogrammetry. The tools in Autodesk 123D have since been replaced by TinkerCAD, Fusion 360, ReMake.

UNITY 4 TEENS

TEACHING ASSISTANT | February - May 2017, SEATTLE, WA

The non-profit SIXR, Simulated Immersive eXperimental Realities, offers a "Unity 4 Teens" class taught by the co-creator of Knuckles from the game Sonic the Hedgehodge, Mr. Kunitake Aoki. For the first half of 2017, I was a teaching assistant to secondary students (ages 13-17). Common tasks included assisting students with their work while they were in class building virtual reality video games in the game engine Unity.
